Reviews
Lindskoog has spent some 25 years accumulating dreamlore, partly from
books, partly from her own prodigiously fertile subconscious; and now she
guides us through this chaotic but intriguing collection. Her piety is
open-minded and unobtrustive, but in the end it is Lindskoog's personality
-- warm, bright, witty, slightly scatter-brained -- rather than any
religious faith, that structures the book and makes it go. Quirky, lively,
absorbing.
--KIRKUS REVIEWS
Though Lindskoog takes dreams seriously, she does not take herself too
seriously, and so we trust her. I have never read a more cogent explanation
of what happens during sleep, or been so enlightened regarding the function
of dreams in mental health.
--CHRISTIANITY TODAY
The Gift of Dreams is credible popular scholarship; it contains a good deal
of common sense.
--CHRISTIAN CENTURY
To those who doubt that dreams mean anything, THE GIFT OF DREAMS is
intended as a perfect squelch. One of the finest qualities of Lindkoog's
try at a perfect squelch is that it is written in her usual style.
Lindskoog knows how to tantalize readers.
--REFORMED JOURNAL
Lindskoog has established a niche for her book by labelling dreams a
"gift." Anyone looking for an introduction to the field of dreams from a
Christian view will find it helpful.
--ETERNITY MAGAZINE
An exhaustive anthology of dream material and dream theory. The extensive
bibliography and index will be found most helpful.
