Light Showers

Flight

Some thoughts wing quickly out of mind
Like darting, wheeling birds;
I cannot keep them safe inside
My aviary of words.

They fly away and leave me fallen
Feathers in a cage;
I'm left behind with just my earthbound
Phrases on a page.
