Light Showers

Nocturne

Two Triolets*

City Girl

I dream of calm nights filled with glimmering stars,
Where jasmine floats heavy upon the cool air.
There winds softly whisper. No city noise mars
Those dreamy calm nights filled with glimmering stars.
Mine are restless with searchlights and sirens and cars,
With hubbub and hoopla, with bustle and blare.
I dream of calm nights filled with glimmering stars,
Where jasmine floats heavy upon the cool air.

Country Girl

I dream of bright nights filled with glittering light,
Where music and laughter spill into the street.
Here in the quiet I dream with delight
Of bright, happy nights filled with glittering light.
If I go to the city and all turns out right,
I'll have concerts to go to and people to meet.
I dream of bright nights filled with glittering light,
Where music and laughter spill into the street.
