The Continental ContiTech Variflex Red nitrile rubber multipurpose hose is a general-purpose, nonconductive hose manufactured for applications where the need for oil resistance is moderate. Its Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) Class A nitrile synthetic rubber tube is rated to undergo a maximum volume change of +25% and to maintain a minimum of 80% of its tensile strength after exposure to oil. Its red cover is resistant to abrasion and ozone, and is made of RMA Class B Chemivic, a Buna-N-Vinyl synthetic rubber that will undergo a maximum volume change of +65% and maintain at least 50% of its tensile strength after exposure to oil. This hose is reinforced with spiral synthetic yarn for strength and it is capable of functioning effectively at temperatures ranging from -20 to +190 degrees F (-29 to +88 degrees C). It is rated with a minimum electrical resistance greater than one (1) megohm per inch of hose length at 1,000V DC, and can be used with a variety of coupling options (sold separately). This hose is suitable for general purpose applications such as industrial air service, compressor lines, pneumatic tools, low-pressure spray, and others.
